Remuneration: $43.68 Hourly Rate
Locations: Wyndham Cultural Centre, Encore Events Centre & Wyndham City Civic Centre (This role is required to work across multiple locations throughout the Wyndham Municipality)
About the role
As a member of the Cultural Venues team, this position requires you to provide outstanding customer service including front of house services to patrons attending theatre events and programs across Council’s Cultural Venues.
The Theatre Support position works closely with other Theatre Support staff, the Theatre Officer and Box Office Supervisor to ensure we provide a positive experience for every patron from when they walk into the venue until they leave.
What your day will look like
- Greet and welcome patrons upon arrival, providing assistance as needed
- Process ticket sales and transactions using EFTPOS
- Scan tickets and facilitate smooth entry into the venue
- Service food and beverages in accordance with venue policies and health regulations
- Ensure compliance with responsible service of alcohol requirements where applicable
- Assist with general venue setup and pack down before and after events
- Response promptly and professionally to patron enquiries and concerns
- Maintain a clean and organised front-of-house area
What you will bring
- Strong Customer Service skills with a friendly and professional demeanour
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Proven experience in a fast-paced Customer Service role
- Previous experience in an Arts Venue or Hospitality environment (highly desirable)
- Proven experience in POS systems (EFTPOS, Lightspeed preferred) and reconciliation of sales
- Ability to take initiative and proactively identify opportunities for improvement
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with diverse patrons
- Proven experience with ticket scanning systems to ensure smooth and efficient entry for patrons
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
- Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate (required)
- Current First Aid Certificate (desirable)
- Working with Children’s Check (desirable)
Work Environment & Conditions:
- The role involves standing for extended periods and light to moderate lifting
- Work is conducted in a dynamic theatre environment with varying shift times
- The position requires adherence to workplace safety and customer service protocols
