A bit about the role

Are you passionate about transforming services to deliver greater value to the community? We’re looking for a dynamic Service Design Lead to spearhead service redesign and improvement initiatives that will elevate the way we support our diverse city. In this role, you’ll lead innovative projects, using data-driven insights to spark change and create impact, while collaborating with leaders to rethink and reshape how services are delivered.

You’ll bring fresh ideas and strategic thinking, offering high-level advice to drive service innovation and policy evolution. Your leadership in redesigning services for greater public value will shape key projects and influence how we tackle the future needs of our city.

What you’ll deliver

  • Provide forward-thinking, evidence-based advice to guide service planning and policy development.
  • Evaluate and transition to cutting-edge models that deliver more to the community.
  • Drive high-impact projects from concept to completion, ensuring they align with the organisation’s strategic vision.
  • Identify game-changing opportunities to enhance public value through smarter processes and systems.
  • Foster strong partnerships with stakeholders to co-create meaningful service change and improvements.
  • Lead change management efforts, equipping teams with the skills and knowledge to adapt and thrive.
  • Leverage service-level data to generate actionable insights that shape decision-making and drive progress.

What you’ll bring

  •  A visionary mindset, with tertiary qualifications in policy, social science, human services, business, or a related discipline, and several years of hands-on experience.
  • Business smarts with deep insights into organisational challenges, especially in service and asset management.
  • A proven track record of driving organisational change, using creative approaches to solve problems and transform service delivery.
  • Strong organisational skills to juggle multiple priorities with ease, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope.
  • Exceptional project leadership, from project planning to managing teams and monitoring progress.
  • A natural ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable strategies hat inspire change.
  • A passion for continuous improvement, always looking for innovative ways to deliver better outcomes for the community.
