A bit about the role

We are in search of a proactive, self-motivated administrator reporting to the Senior Child Safe Advisor in the Risk team to assist in the management of all safeguarding activities, including compliance with the Victorian Child Safe Standards and Reportable Conduct Scheme. You will also provide confidential casework support to direct and indirect child facing staff, using positive practical solutions whilst working with senior leaders, the community and local government service providers. Applicants with experience delivering and upholding Child Safety Standards are encouraged to apply.

 

What you’ll deliver

  • You will assist in delivering projects and services that advocate for children and young people's safety and well-being throughout the various business units of the municipality.
  • Support in the confidential management of the Reportable Conduct Scheme ensuring communications to the Commission are managed within a timely manner.
  • Develop an on-going training and monitoring assurance program to support staff with their compliance obligations.
  • Assist in the creation of risk and compliance plans relating to Child Safe activities in consultation for Senior Leaders and Audit & Risk Committee, and
  • Ensuring any other administrative tasks relating to Child Safe practices are upheld in a private and confidential manner.

What you’ll bring

  • Knowledge and understanding of the Victorian Child Safe Standards
  • High level administrative experience with capability to manage priority tasks. 
  • Valid Working with Childrens Check 
  • Tertiary qualification in a discipline related to community services, risk and compliance management and/or experience in a safety or OH&S role - Min 2 years of experience.
  • A continuous improvement mindset with a positive, proactive, and flexible attitude
