A bit about the role

Wyndham City has an opportunity to join the energetic and dynamic Community Strengthening unit to manage the efficient and effective operation of Council’s community grants and subsidies programs.

As Senior Community Grants Officer, your aptitude for delivering community outcomes in grants using robust processes and your experience supporting community groups and organisations will be critical to success in this role. Apply your extensive experience in administering grant programs and systems to implement effective, transparent and streamlined grants programs whilst managing a set budget and timelines, to deliver grant outcomes for the community.

What you will deliver

  • Coordinate all aspects of program implementation from promotion, application, assessment through to notification, payment, and acquittal.
  • Foster relationships, provide guidance and build capacity of community groups and organisations to successfully apply for grants.
  • Raise awareness of the value of Council’s grants program and report on the distribution of grants.
  • Contribute to the development and review of Community Grants and Subsidies Policy and Programs.
  • Implement a robust monitoring, evaluation and continuous improvement framework.


What you will bring

  • Experience in managing community grants programs, including administration, coordination and evaluation of grants and funding programs.  
  • Substantial experience in supporting and building capacity of community groups and organisations.
  • Demonstrated project management experience and well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong teamwork orientation, with skills in working collaboratively in a team to prioritise and achieve joint outcomes.
  • A continuous improvement mindset with a positive, proactive, and flexible attitude.
