About the role
Wyndham City’s Facilities, Fleet & Depot Stores Department keeps Council running – maintaining our diverse portfolio of buildings, managing our fleet of vehicles, and ensuring the seamless flow of essential materials, consumables that enable our community outcomes.
This exciting opportunity has arisen due to the extended leave of the current officer, offering the chance to contribute to a department undergoing significant transformation and improvement.
As our Senior Change Officer, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the next chapter of this department’s transformation. Working directly with the Manager, Facilities, Fleet & Depot Stores, you’ll design, facilitate, and lead initiatives that strengthen how we work, uplifting capability, improving culture and processes, and embedding sustainable change that supports Council’s strategic direction.
This role is for someone who thrives on collaboration, innovation, and seeing ideas come to life. You’ll bring structure to complexity, turn plans into action, and help our people perform at their best as we deliver essential services to the Wyndham community.
What your day will look like
· Partnering with leaders and teams to co-design initiatives that deliver meaningful and measurable results.
· Developing, facilitating, and at times leading implementation of change management strategies for key organisational projects.
· Engaging with teams across the department to provide communication, coaching, and on-the-ground support for change adoption.
· Conducting impact assessments, identifying stakeholder needs, and supporting readiness for change.
· Working with stakeholders to design and deliver training that builds lasting capability.
· Supporting project teams to integrate change management into project delivery, ensuring benefits are realised and sustained.
· Applying best practice project management and acting as project owner or representative on key initiatives.
· Translating strategic direction into practical action, supporting the Department Manager and leadership team to drive outcomes aligned to Council’s values, culture, and priorities.
What you will bring
· Relevant qualification with several years of subsequent relevant experience OR lesser formal qualifications with extensive relevant experience
· PROSCI certification or similar, and project management experience will be advantageous
· Experience in communicating to an internal audience using a range of processes and tools
· Experience leading large/complex organisational change initiatives will be an advantage
· Ability to manage situations with internal stakeholders to resolve specialist problems and build long term relationships
· Ability to motivate and facilitate teams and individuals from across the organisation and conduct consultations, take feedback and resolve issues
