Location: Werribee based

 

About the role

As a Road Safety Officer with Wyndham City Council, you will provide effective and efficient education and enforcement of legislation relating to parking and road safety.

You will also engage with the community to promote community safety as it relates to parking and road safety, including responding to customer requests regarding illegal parking, abandoned and unregistered vehicles. 

What your day will look like

·         Provide guidance, advice, and assistance to drivers in relation to parking compliance matters

·         Take appropriate enforcement action where contraventions of parking legislation are identified

·         Respond promptly to customer requests relating to illegal parking, as well as Abandoned and unregistered vehicles

·         Patrol and supervise school crossings

·         Present evidence in the Magistrates Court, as required

·         Accurately record correspondence, notes, and evidence in Council’s systems

What you will bring

·         Certificate IV in Government Investigations (or equivalent), or willingness to obtain

·         Previous experience in a parking compliance or regulatory role (Previous experience in Local Government Highly Desirable)

·         Demonstrated experience in a dynamic, customer-focused role

·         Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and general IT proficiency, including an electronic infringement issuing device

·         The ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation

·         Excellent time management and communication skills

·         Current Victorian Driver’s License
