About the role

Reporting to the Coordinator Service Development and Strategy, the Service Lead Strategy and Partnerships will be responsible for facilitating the development and evaluation of operational and strategic plans, undertaking special project work of sustainable benefit to children, young people and families.

In this role, you will provide leadership and coordination of initiatives that enhance sector collaboration and service integration to improve access and participation of residents in life stage services.

Using a collaborative approach, you will lead the planning, development, implementation and embedding of processes and shared ways of working across the Department that meet community needs and organisational priorities.

Your relevant qualifications, experience, knowledge of strategic planning, community capacity building, family centred practice, change management along with your project management and strong leadership skills will be critical to ensuring your success in this role.

What your day will look like

  • Work closely with internal and external teams to help strengthen the Department and local services, ensuring we meet the community's identified and emerging needs of the community.
  • Provide regular updates, reports, presentations, and advice to leadership, the team, and external partners on ongoing programs, initiatives, industry trends, and community needs.
  • Assist with service planning by helping to implement and evaluate various initiatives.
  • Lead a small team, fostering a positive and collaborative work culture while supporting their development.

What you will bring

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in the area of policy, social science, community development or human services discipline with several years of subsequent relevant experience.
  • Strong background in managing and leading teams, with a track record of successful staff management and leadership, with the ability to motivate, guide, and develop teams to achieve their best.
  • Skilled in managing projects, from planning to creating presentations and briefs for senior team members.
  • Proven track record in community service planning, including leading improvements, conducting research, and engaging with stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in planning and improving community services, including leading initiatives to enhance service delivery, conducting research, and actively engaging with stakeholders to drive positive change.
  • Current employee Working with Children Check.
