About the role
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Clinical Governance Senior Project Officer to lead a project focused on developing a clinical governance framework for Wyndham’s Child, Family Health and Wellbeing (CFHW) service, addressing key areas of risk, compliance, and quality improvement. This initiative will create a sustainable model by leveraging insights from various stakeholders to standardise procedures, close gaps identified in recent audits, and ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements.
The project aims to enhance operational effectiveness, provide targeted training, and improve clinical governance processes, to support the MCH team in delivering high-quality, evidence-based care and outcomes to families and children.
This is a fixed term 12-month, part time position (22.8 hours per week, across 3 days) within the Maternal Child & Family Health unit.
What your day will look like
- Design and implement a clinical governance structure for the Child, Family, and Wellbeing (CFHW) service, focusing on building a sustainable framework that aligns with best practices and enhances service delivery.
- Evaluate community needs by conducting assessments and gathering feedback to ensure the service adapts and evolves in line with the changing needs of the population.
- Track and assess progress by setting measurable goals, ensuring that all compliance standards are met, new procedures and training programs are fully rolled out, and staff demonstrate greater confidence and consistency in practice by December 2026.
- Develop policies and training initiatives that establish clear guidelines and support effective practice across the CFHW team, with systems in place to monitor ongoing performance and consistency.
- Create engaging training resources and communication plans to ensure stakeholders are well-informed and actively involved in the processes and improvements happening within the service.
What you will bring
Mandatory Qualifications to practice as a MCH Nurse in Victoria, as outlined in the Position Description:
- Current registration with AHPRA:
- Registered Nurse (Division 1)
- Registered Midwife, and;
In addition to the above registrations, accredited postgraduate Diploma/Degree (or equivalent) in Child and Family Health Nursing.
- Experience in Clinical Governance: Demonstrated expertise in governance processes within a health or community service setting.
- Strong Collaboration Skills: Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
- Project management expertise with the ability to manage projects, meet deadlines, and achieve outcomes.
- Confidence and experience in developing and delivering training and communicating complex information clearly.
- Demonstrated experience in team leadership, teamwork development, and innovative service development.
- Experience working in MCH nursing for a minimum of five years.
- Previous experience within the local government sector (desirable).
- A proactive approach to enhancing service delivery and operational effectiveness.
