About the role
As the Project Engineer in our Roads and Maintenance department, you will assist in the delivery of the Engineering Design Unit’s capital works program, proactively providing specialist advice in relation to the planning, design and delivery of capital works projects.
Your knowledge of engineering design standards and guidelines as well as your project management experience will see you producing high quality civil design works for Wyndham’s Capital Works Program. This role will have you working in a cohesive team of people with a diverse range of skills and experience. The team members work largely autonomously, yet with a culture of willing support.
What your day will look like
- Coordinating the planning, engineering design and delivery of capital works projects
- Undertaking survey, design, drafting and cost estimate, for projects, including preparation of written reports on the progress of the project
- Producing high quality civil road and drainage designs and tender documentation
- Managing minor design projects received from Councils internal departments
- Providing advice and technical support for AutoCAD and 12D users
What you will bring
- Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering and eligibility to qualify for membership in Engineers Australia with several years of subsequent relevant experience
- Professional Engineers Registration in compliance with the Professional Engineers Registration Act 2019
- Relevant experience in civil road and drainage design, traffic engineering and construction practices
- Demonstrated experience in operating computer aided design (12D) and drafting programs (AutoCAD)
- Demonstrated project management experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated well developed leadership skills and experience to lead multi-disciplined projects
- Current Victorian driver’s license
- Current WorkSafe construction induction accreditation (white card)
