Events Officer

• Salary from $98,346.36 plus super (Pro rata for Part time role)
• Two Werribee-based opportunities available:

o    1 x Full time, 2.5-year fixed term fortnightly RDO   

o    1 x Part time (16 hours per week), 8-month fixed term

A bit about the role

Working collaboratively within a team of passionate and energetic event officers, your creativity and dedication will be instrumental in delivering a diverse program of Council led festivals & events to enhance the liveability of Wyndham for our community and visitors. Our programs are relevant, regularly re-imagined and reflect the growth and needs of our community.

Reporting to the Team Leader Events, you’ll contribute to delivering events that engage diverse audiences, are creatively and artistically excellent and that support community connections in Wyndham City.

The Events program currently includes a Major Events program, support to Civic and Internal Events and support to community organisations through the grants and skills development.  

What you’ll deliver

·         Memorable event experiences across a range of locations in Wyndham for our growing community

·         An events program that is technically and financially sound, safe, meets best practice, is inclusive and complies with all relevant standards and legislation

·         Strong relationships and collaborative outcomes across the Arts, Culture & Events unit, internal and external stakeholders and the community

·         Compelling marketing strategies to captivate audiences and drive participation in Wyndham City’s vibrant events program 

What you’ll bring

·         Diverse experience in delivering a range of event formats and programs.

·         Project management and goal-setting skills in an environment with fluctuating demands

·         Demonstrable skills in delivering and managing events to budget and timeframes

·         Working knowledge of event-related risk management and safety requirements

·         A passion for creativity, innovation and fostering community engagement

·         A positive, curious and flexible attitude

·         Qualifications in a related area or field will be highly regarded
