About the role

You will join our growing team in the Asset Management business unit in this newly created role.

You will assist the organisation by collecting, validating, and maintaining the high-quality asset data in the Asset Management System (AMS) and Geographic Information System (GIS), ensuring compliance with organisational standards and statutory requirements.


Being an active contributor with great communication skills is key as you will work collaboratively with the Asset Spatial Data Officer, Asset Performance Officer, and other key stakeholders to support asset condition assessments, inspections, and system integration.

 

What your day will look like

  • Conducting data quality checks and resolving data discrepancies in collaboration with the Asset Spatial Data Officer and other key stakeholders
  • Providing user support for the AMS and GIS platforms, assisting system users with access, navigation, and troubleshooting issues
  • Supporting the Asset System & Compliance Specialist with system configuration, user access, and enhancements to improve system usability and performance
  • Using data analytics tools to support the analysis of asset data for condition assessments, lifecycle planning, and asset investment priorities
  • Contributing to compliance reporting, including Local Government Performance Reporting Framework (LGPRF) and audit submissions



What you will bring

  • Demonstrated experience with Asset Management Systems (AMS), Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and data analysis tools (essential)
  • Proven ability to collect, validate, and maintain asset data with a focus on accuracy, integrity, and compliance. (essential)
  • Ability to troubleshoot system issues, support system users, and provide timely, practical solutions. (essential)
  • Knowledge of data governance principles, compliance standards, and Council policies related to asset data management. (essential)
  • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate technical information effectively and collaborate with internal teams, system users, and contractors. (essential)
  • Current Victorian Driver’s Licence to support on-site inspections and operational activities. (essential)
  • Tertiary qualification in Asset Management, Information Management, GIS, Data Analytics, or a related discipline, OR substantial relevant experience (essential)
