About the role
Utilising your Arborist skills and experience, you will work amongst an enthusiastic and energetic team to properly care for and maintain some of Wyndham’s most valuable assets… its trees.
What your day will look like
· Complete arboriculture and parks maintenance tasks and programs to Council standards
· Take responsibility for the care of plant, tools and equipment, including fuel, lubrication and fluid levels as required
· Operate plant and equipment e.g. Chippers, EWP, Chainsaws and Water Tankers
· Undertake relevant training as required
· Undertake watering, mulching and formative pruning of young trees as well as responding to emergencies such as wind events or bush fire water tanker support
What you will bring
· Arboriculture Certificate AQF Level 3 with Chainsaw operators’ certificate (Level 1/2) is desirable but not essential. We would also consider someone who is currently undertaking training for cert 3 in Arboriculture.
· Certificate II ESI which should include these modules, HLTAID001 – CPR, UETTDRRF10B-First Aid in an ESI environment, UETTDRRF03B – Perform EWP rescue, UETTDRRF08B – Perform EWP controlled descent. (Desirable but not essential)
· Traffic Management Training including these modules, RIIWHS205D – Control Traffic with stop/slow bat, RIIWHS302D – Implement traffic management plan (Desirable but not essential)
· A current Victorian Drivers licence including Truck licence (above 15T) and trailer is required
· License to perform High Risk Work: EWP > 11meters (Desirable but not essential)
· Experience in the use of arboriculture plant and equipment, e.g. EWP’s, chippers, chainsaw, water tanker etc. (Essential)
If you progress past the interview stage, you may be required to complete pre-employment screening, which may include police checks, a medical, qualification verification, and an Australian work rights check.
