About the role

Wyndham City’s Parks Department will offer you the opportunity to utilise your parks maintenance and people management skills whilst benefiting from a supportive team environment, 9-day fortnight and ongoing industry professional development. 


Reporting to the Team Leader Arboriculture, you will be responsible for the operational supervision and coordination of allocated staff to ensure the ongoing arboricultural maintenance of trees in streets, parks and reserves throughout the Municipality.


Your proven leadership, operational management, and people skills, together with extensive related industry experience and/ or relevant diploma or tertiary qualifications will provide you with the knowledge and skills required to succeed in this diverse role. 


What your day will look like

·         Supervising and monitoring of productivity and quality of work within the team and contractors

·         Running productive and informative toolbox meetings

·         Training of employees in the use of equipment or techniques

·         Conducting safety and quality audits within the team and contractors

·         Updating electronic data systems

·         Responding and scheduling customer requests

What you will bring

·         Posttrade certificate with experience in Arboriculture

·         Demonstrated experience in leading a team and effectively supervising contractors

·         Knowledge of indigenous flora and fauna communities and their ecological requirements

·         Experience in operation of small plant and equipment

·         Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and GIS

·         First Aid Level 2

·         Current Victorian Driver’s License

·         Licensed to drive vehicles above 15 tonnes, GCM and trailer
