As a growing municipality Wyndham City Council is changing rapidly to respond to community need. The Child Family Health and Well-being Team is expanding to include Service Lead roles to provide additional support to the Coordinator and Team Leaders to deliver quality outcomes and respond to opportunities for innovation.

A bit about the role

You will be responsible for the effective program delivery of our Universal Maternal and Child Health service, providing guidance and leadership to ensure we meet the high expectations of our growing community. You will work with the team to ensure we continue to achieve professional practise standards, developing efficient and effective systems, working in collaboration with other leaders across the Child, Family Health and Wellbeing unit.

You will support the team through change, keeping a keen eye on the development of best practice standards in the sector and delivering innovative ways to continue delivering the exceptional experiences our families have come to know and love.

You will also be responsible for developing transparent processes for strategic resource allocation and implementing a governance framework in line with the obligations of Council and external stakeholders.

What you’ll deliver

  • Strong leadership and guidance to our MCH universal team, driving efficient and effective service delivery
  • Innovative mindset, identifying and implementing positive change and creating opportunities for collaboration
  • A strategic focus to our operational activities, utilising a continuous improvement approach to planning processes
  • An improved governance and resource allocation process and framework
  • Collaborative approach to service planning and improvement, identifying and capitalising on opportunities to improve


What you’ll bring

  • Exceptional leadership skills, developing and supporting the Universal MCH team to achieve outstanding results
  • Demonstrated experience in identifying and understanding community needs, developing and implementing outcomes focused policy and service responses
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, providing clear and strategic problem solving to the team
  • Working experience in financial management, program delivery and assessment, and business planning
  • AHPRA registration for both Division 1 Nursing, Midwifery and an accredited postgrad qualification in MCH nursing
  • A current Victorian Working with Children’s check
  • A positive, curious and flexible mind
