A bit about the role

As a growing municipality Wyndham City Council is changing rapidly to respond to community need. The Child Family Health and Well-being Team is expanding to include Service Lead roles to provide additional support to the Coordinator and Team Leaders to deliver quality outcomes and respond to opportunities for innovation.

You will lead our Immunisation and EMCH teams, while building and maintaining external networks, representing Council and advocating for our families. You will have an intimate understanding of what are the needs of our community, responding and incorporating them into our strategic planning. With an accessibility lens, you will also be tasked with the development and implementation of innovative practises, creating effective and efficient best practise service delivery in line with community needs.

You will have the responsibility of supporting the EMCH and Immunisation Team Leaders to implement service agreements, meet targets and streamline access and referral pathways. You will also be responsible, with support from the Coordinator, for the implementation of the Sleep and Settling Model of Care.

What you’ll deliver
  • Strong leadership, providing guidance and supporting the Enhanced MCH and Immunisation teams to deliver exceptional outcomes for our community
  • Identify and establish innovative continuous improvement opportunities, supporting the delivery of services within the municipality
  • The conduit between strategic planning and operational service delivery, providing process and guidance on achieving Council goals and service agreements
  • Support to the Enhanced MCH team to implement the Enhanced MCH guidelines and Child and Family Action Plan
  • Grow and connect with external stakeholders to achieve accessibility and ease for families with our referral partners

What you’ll bring
  • Exception leadership skills, with the ability to identify and drive opportunities for effective change
  • Demonstrated experience in the planning, leadership, management and delivery of the Enhanced MCH Service.
  • Proven problem-solving skills in complex environments
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills, identifying community needs and supporting the team through meeting these needs
  • AHPRA registration for both Division 1 Nursing, Midwifery and an accredited postgrad qualification in MCH nursing
  • A current Victorian Working with Children’s check
  • A positive, curious and flexible mind
