About the role

As Service Lead Early Years and Partnerships, you will lead and oversee day-to-day operational management of the Child & Family Resource and Early Years Partnership teams, to deliver quality outcomes for community and our partners ensuring alignment with Council priorities.

Using design thinking and a family centred practice approach, you will lead the development of projects, strategies, policies, and initiatives that support families and our Early Years Partners to thrive in Wyndham. In conjunction with the Coordinator Family & Sector Partnerships, you will coordinate the operational support functions for Council’s Early Years Partner Team, financial functions, administration, relationship management and delivery of the Supported Playgroup service.

Your strong leadership skills together with your understanding and knowledge of change management, experience in leading multidisciplinary teams and passion for driving quality improvement and customer experience initiatives will make you an ideal candidate for this role.

What your day will look like

  • Providing leadership and support to the Family Resource and Early Years Partnership Teams to achieve performance and professional goals.
  • Oversee operational reporting on quality, service standards, data analytics, KPIs, and quality improvement processes for the Child & Family Resource and Early Years teams.
  • Drive change management to implement industry reforms and manage other related projects.
  • Coordinate operational support functions, including enrolments, bookings, financial functions, customer service, administration, and project coordination.
  • Analyse workforce needs, forecast supply and demand, and implement talent management strategies, alongside preparing, monitoring, and reporting on budgets, reports, and briefing papers.
  • Lead the development and execution of key projects within the teams.
  • Collaborate with the Coordinator and team to ensure holistic, family-centred service delivery.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community groups and partners to improve services and programs.

What you will bring

  • Degree or diploma qualification in Human Services, Early Childhood or Community Development disciplines.
  • Broad knowledge of services for families, and the general community, including an understanding of the relevant Acts, Legislation, Regulations, and funding guidelines in relation to early Education and Care Services and family services.
  • Previous experience in managing budgets, including monitoring cash flows and monthly financial reports.
  • Demonstrated experience in leadership and management of staff.
  • Strong understanding of the principles of integrated service delivery, community development and family centered practice.
  • Positive contribution to the success of the Community Support Department and Council's community initiatives.
  • A valid employee Working with Children Check and a valid Victorian driver’s license.
